gov/5284/Why-Work-Here We Require High School diploma or GED Two years of customer service experience OR Post-secondary education to substitute the required experience on a year-for-year basis We Also Value Experience with library-related automation systems Experience assisting customers with online account payments and account management Experience working or volunteering in a public library Bilingual skills in Spanish and English Job Contributions Issue, verify, and renew library cards Inform customers of their account status, answer questions, and resolve customer concerns by phone, in person, or by e-mail Refer escalated customer concerns to appropriate staff members Assist customers with the use of our self-service payment kiosk and initiate search for materials claimed returned Process library materials for shelving and routing Perform light cleaning duties, such as dusting, straightening, and bathroom tidying Assist with the maintenance and display of the collection Working Conditions Library environment requiring evening and weekend availability Ability to cover shifts at nearby libraries Ability to lift 20 pounds floor-to-waist; lift 10 pounds waist-to-shoulder, lift 5 pounds shoulder-to-overhead, carry 15 pounds a distance of 50 feet, and push/pull up to 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet Selection Procedure Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer.
